Falafel

Ingredients

  • Produce: 
    • Small bunch fresh cilantro
    • ½ red onion, minced
    • 2-3 cloves garlic, pressed or minced
  • Beans: 
    • 1 cup cooked chickpeas
  • Dairy: 
    • 1 egg, beaten
  • Baking + Spices: 
    • 2 teaspoons cumin
    • ½ teaspoon turmeric
    • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • Grains:
    • 1 cup bread crumb
  • Other:
    • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
    • ¼ teaspoon baking powder

  1. Mash beans and add remaining ingredients.

  2. Shape into ½ inch balls or patties.

  3. Fry or bake until golden and crispy.
