Fit & Fresh Event at Element Uptown

Resident flyer

Pop Up Produce was invited to be part of Element Uptown’s Fit & Fresh event on February 16. Between 6-8 p.m., residents could mingle in the Lounge, sample delicious and healthy snacks and meet some of Charlotte’s local vendors advocating for healthier living. In addition to the vendors present showcasing their products and services, there was also a pop up food market set up in the middle of the lounge! Residents were able to pick up healthy veggies to take back to their units like carrots, peppers, avocados, garlic, cilantro, lemons, limes, you name it. I absolutely love how this event was creatively thought through and I was very impressed by the attention to detail and professionalism of the concierge staff. 5 stars all around for making Element’s residents feel right at home and us vendors, too!

I really appreciated the friendliness and interest from Element’s residents regarding Pop Up Produce. Most people who stopped by our vendor table either purchased a Fresh Start Kit, signed up to be a volunteer, opted to receive our newsletter, and/or provided us with a local contact to reach out to and share our story. What a wonderful group of residents – thank you all for your support! It was such a pleasure meeting everyone. Most residents recently moved to Charlotte (one lady even a week ago!) and are looking for occasions to network and discover new experiences in town. I’m grateful to have the chance to share with the residents the good work we are doing in our community, and provide the residents an opportunity to be a part of our good work also!

Pop Up Produce had a great time meeting and working alongside the other great vendors. Click on their links to learn more about what they’re doing and to connect with them as well:

Charlotte Lenjk, Charlotte’s Elite Concierge Service. Founder and Owner Kjnel Jackson showcased her meal prep service by providing chicken and shrimp skewers, fruit infused water, and a brown rice with black bean, sautéed peppers and slow cooked chicken bowl topped with pineapple and mango salsa. Yum! Kjnel is a longtime friend (we used to work marketing promotions back in college together!) and let me take a big foil pan home of some leftovers. Perfect brain food for the late night grant writing submission that followed this event.

Charlotte Yoga: Courtney Shearer, Studio Manager, informed residents they had the chance to sign up for an amazing new student special: 30 days for $30 of unlimited yoga, plus an extra 10 days! And yes, you better believe I signed up as well! Turns out their new South End location is right next door to where I live, so I had to jump on this amazing deal and join in, too. Considering I have my yoga teacher certification, you’d think I’d practice more often. Unfortunately this hasn’t been the case...It’s time for this certified yogi to get back into a daily practice! Here’s to a healthier body, soul and mind ahead!

Get Fit with Chrys: residents sampled a health-packed protein shake with coconut milk while learning about ways to live a healthier and toned lifestyle through Chrys’ personal training. Did I mention this awesome chic also teaches Zumba class? Click on the link to learn more.

Tower Garden by Juice Plus: residents learned about Tower Garden, a vertical aeroponic system, which grows food without the use of soil and takes up less than 3 square feet! Residents had the option to purchase tower gardens for their apartment units, while learning about “Farm to Capsule” Juice Plus, added nutritional supplements for busy, on the go lifestyles. If interested in learning more, please contact Amy. Amy also represents  “Farm to Capsule” from Juice Plus: a juice powder & plant protein concentrates for busy, on the go lifestyles.

Power Crunch: residents sampled a variety of high protein energy bars.  My personal favorite was the chocolate mint and the vanilla. If looking for a new whey bar to add to your supplement collection, I definitely recommend to click on the link and view the other flavors.

I look forward to future events with Element Uptown’s event team. Special thank you to James Mock, The Element Uptown Concierge Director, and his team for putting on such a wonderful event and allowing us to be a part of the experience!
